Kitset invites the viewer to engage with the construction of a necklace. Linked by multiple nut and bolt mechanisms, specifically adapted for dissected pieces of wooden kitchen utensils, Kitset’s final configuration becomes subject to the participants’ actions. Accompanying the necklace components is an instructional film intended as a participatory prompt for the viewer. Through Kitset, Sarah Walker-Holt examines the inherent tactile nature of contemporary jewellery and the possibilities for interaction.
